Driving/Combo: Maximum trail coverage in a single light. The Driving/Combo pattern is equipped with both Driving (42°) and spot (8°) optics to provide you with a smooth blend of light for both near field applications and distance (Lighting Zone 3)
Wide Cornering: BD was the first to develop a pattern specifically for cornering, dust and/or fog conditions. The Wide Driving pattern offers a 42° flattened horizontal beam for the ultimate in comfort lighting. (Lighting Zones 1 & 2)
Spot: A longer and narrower 8° beam focus for illumination further down the trail or road. The Spot pattern is designed to be used in conjunction with additional Wide Driving and/or Driving/Combo beam lights. (Lighting Zone 4 & 5)
Work/Scene: Excellent work light or “scene light” with an extremely smooth 120° circle that projects about 40ft. This pattern is not suitable for driving. (Lighting Zone 7)
I had installed a set of Squadron Pro's on my GSA, and a friend with a KTM 790 Adventure said he liked them but didn't ride at night. I told him if he got a set he WOULD ride at night. So he got a set and I installed them. He took the bike out the other night for the first time and was amazed. Hate to say I told you so but......
I've had two pair of Squadron Pros mounted in the fog light pocket of my Gen 2 Raptor for a year now and all I can say is they are absolutely amazing, particularly for their size. I've tried all three lenses as well as amber ones too. The U-service makes changing them a breeze. They provide a great combination of illumination pattern, intensity and flexibility. Now that BD has an SAE approved version, I'm going to add a pair of those so I can use them with on road. Oh, and their customer service is excellent!
I have had these Baja Designs Squadron Pro (pair) on my 2014 Triumph Trophy motorcycle since August 2016. I also ordered the Skene wiring harness from BD. It was nearly a plug and play install and the lighting output is really outstanding. The skene allows me to run the squadron pros at any percentage of power in increments of 10%, from 0-100%. I run them at 30% with the bike's low beams (all the time, day and night) and have the skene programmed at 100% as soon as I hit the factory high-beam switch. I also have a hidden switch (provided in the kit) for just the BDs to turn them off, but have never had the need to use it. After installing these lights, I honestly look for opportunities to ride during the night, as it's a whole different experience and now I have the confidence to see animals in plenty of time. These are expensive, however, I have not found anything on the market that will touch them. I have contacted BD a few times to talk about different light options, reflectors and maybe upgrading one of my two lights to the "race" electronics and reflectors for a super focused long range beam. They have been outstanding for customer service, which is refreshing now-a-days. If you are on the fence, DO IT!!!! You will be glad you did and forget about your lighter wallet as soon as you turn them on. There is no contest! (I have a 20" LED light bar on my Can-Am Commander from another "chinese" company and these little 3" cubes make the 20" light bar look like a dim flashlight. REALLY! My next purchase is a set for my truck behind the grill. Tim O.
